 | Hi! | |
All of my good ones are here: http://flickr.com/photos/luntian/
Dear Alumni and Alumnae of AtSCA, As some of you already know, our beloved Manang Victoria Desierto from Marytown passed away last Monday, 21st of July 2008. It had come to us as a great shock since Manang Vic was still working around the month of May, however her health quickly started to fail. What we had thought as goiter, turned out to be tumor, a cancer that quickly spread throughout her body. When our fellow alumnus Caloy Prado visited a week ago, he had found her already bedridden, and could hardly speak and eat. Manang Vic was supposed to have an operation this August to take out her tumor, however, perhaps because of her weakened state she was rushed to the hospital last Monday. At around 7 in the evening, our Manang Vic passed away. Manang Victoria has been a kind of icon to us AtSCAns especially us Marytowners. We have gotten to know her and her family well. Most of all, she had invited us not only into her home but into her life. Manang Vic left behind eight children (Apple, Dobek, Bona, Drilon, Joco, Aliana, Martie and Bryle), six of which are still minors, while the two oldest have stopped school and have unstable employment. Her husband, Kuya Dong, had suffered a stroke some years back and is no longer able to work. We are writing this letter in behalf of the family that Manang Vic left behind. As of the moment they have no stable source of income and are still settling expenses incurred from the hospital, the wake and burial. The wake is being held at the Marytown Chapel and burial will be this Sunday, 27th of July. Some of us alumni are arranging for a visit this weekend and we are urging you to join us. Moreover, for those who may not be able to visit but would like to help financially, we are temporarily going to use Caloy Prado’s Metrobank savings account to pool funds for the family’s immediate needs. For your donations, please deposit to: Metrobank Savings Account Number: 0933093197535 Account Holder: Carlos Manuel S. Prado Note: The purpose of this account and your deposits will be for the “abuloy” of those who could not personally visit the family and will also go to the expenses abovementioned. We will entrust the funds to the decision-maker of the family. Please also note that this DOES NOT translate into an Endowment Fund that some of the alumni previously discussed. Moreover, please DO NOT make a deposit after August 8, 2008, again, the account is only being temporarily used for the abovementioned purpose. I’m sure the family will be very thankful for any help you will give. Please also forward to those who want to help, especially Marytowners. Thank you brothers and sisters, you can contact me for the meet-up on Saturday. I’ll be visiting after lunch. Jo Santiago MT Cell Leader 06-07 09175060587 4074453 Caloy Prado MT Cell Leader 05-07
Dahil nga ang inyong kaibigan na si Jo ay isang alto, at kung anu-anong level ng pagpiyok ang kanyang mastered art, heto, songs of praise. Mga hindi kumpletong kanta, kumbaga, testing.

Hehe.. Dahil may Bad Lucille Band at may Ligaw Gago at Torpeng Babaero albums, dapat meron ding "ChickenJo Band" at album na "Manangs"

I got a new guitar (well I actually bought it a month ago). I named it Marcos, from our late President. Seems relevant to name it that at the moment since we have the same sickness.
Lagot, tutugtog na naman ako.
Tarsier key chain from Jay! We didn't buy a lot of souvenirs during our stay in Bohol three years ago. Good thing Jay gave me this one, I think it's cute. I used it on my camera remote case.
Wow, our collection is slowly growing. My family didn't use to be into buying magazines, however recently I've noticed that our collection has been growing and growing. My dad primarily buys photography magazines, namely, Digital Photographer Philippines and i-mag. My mom usually buys Yes, Good Housekeeping and Working Mom. I on the other hand, fell in love with Preview magazine. So whenever we go to Mall of Asia, we pass by Fully Booked and get our respective monthly issues. ^_^
Nakisawsaw ako sa date ni Luis at Jay. Hahaha.. Basta, si Luis ang may kasalanan!!! (di nag-invite, pumasok sa planet sports, lahat na..) Anyway, sayang wala si Lucille, wala akong kakampi. Umuulan ng testosterone kapag magkasama si Luis at Jay. Patay patay. But our pictures are SUPER CUTE tho. Hahaha.. ^_^

I am actually using my mom's digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 12.1MP point and shoot camera. Then my dad bought it a Lens Adaptor and Vitacon Digital Tele Lens and also a Micro and Wide angle lens.
The Tele Lens are that which I used taking these pictures.
First three pictures are of my dog Alfie (aka Bubu), you can clearly see the vignetting caused by this lens. Add a little purple gel from a public van's tintend windows, red light from Pancake House, blue light from the Glorietta's movie house, then VIOLA, mukhang Lomo.
I tried following the ten rules of Lomo as well. i.e. Shoot from the hip, don't think just shoot, etc, etc.
Galing noh!!! hhe, kakatuwa. |

| | Weekends are usually for quality time with the family! MOA and Tita Rhue two Saturdays ago and went to Batangas and Tagaytay yesterday. |
| | I really spent most of my night with Lingkod ng Panginoon friends: Lucille, Madam Claudia, Maya, Ronald and Luis--saw a movie, and had coffee/conversation later on.
However, these pictures are of my AtSCAn friends. I passed by them in Kitchen (GB4) and took some photographs. The last picture though, is of Jonas (Lingkod) and her cousin Olivia who just launched a new jazz CD. |
This is my friend Jay. Jay has this big smile and super contagious laughter. Panalo talaga! Tatawa yan, lalabas ang malaking ngipin, mawawala ang mata, tapos magvi-vibrate for a few seconds, then sound will come out of him, papataas ang volume, tapos wala na, you'll find yourself laughing with him.
*tawa*
| | Family thing in Alabang last Saturday, in celebration of tita Rhue's nth bday!
Missed seeing cousin Kevin and Ela. Yey. Pictures by Papa, unedited. I-upload ko raw. |
This is Liz, Marga's baby.. I was sitting on the floor, waiting for the girls to get ready for our shoot, then suddenly, Liz sits in front of me, turning her head, looking intently, like she wants her photograph taken. Voila. This is mama, I took day off from work last week because I wasn't feeling so well. Nevertheless, I still went with my mom for her swim class. And it's nice to know that she's enjoying herself, learning new things at 48. ^_^
Because my guitar was seldom used, and was gathering dust. ^_^ Tsk tsk.
There's something about this guitar that is very much like me. It's pitch is always in the lower level octave no matter how much we pull on it's strings. Just like me, a lower ranged alto. Ahaha. Perfect, si?
O ayan, dumating na ang Sunday tulad ng sabi ko. Spent my Sunday with Lucille, Jay and Luis. We played basketball! Nagluto sina Lucille at Jay, ang galing! Very wholesome, very good, new friends. Wooo!

 | Sumibol | Apr 5, '08 3:15 AM for everyone |
I got to borrow a copy of Sumibol about four years ago from my friend and former blockmate Rolf. It was the first time I fell in love with religious songs, first time I heard songs like those be sung so beautifully. I copied his CD to my PC, but I lost the tracks due to the inevitable crash of our old PC. Nevertheless, I've been looking for a copy for sooo long. My friend Rolf, went on to study in Japan, and there is no one else who I know I could borrow from or where I can buy it from. So PLEASE PLEASE help me find a copy. Lend me a copy or show me where to find one. There is one song here that I've been hoping to learn how to play for the last four years of my life.
| | There was an old man, a foreigner, who said, "I've been living in this area for so many years, but this is the first time I've been here. It's glorious." |
| | It was so darn cold, and the fog wouldn't clear up. Still it was beautiful. |
| | After the house blessing of Tito Eric's new rent-house in Laguna, me and my parents went to UP LB to check out if there'll be something interesting to shoot. See for yourself. |
